Public Notice Disiabililty Determination Services Medical Consultant RFP #10-0008 The Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, Disiability Determination Services is soliciting proposals from organizations, associations or individuals interested in providing Medical Consultant Services. The Disability Determination Services (DDS) is an agency which is part of the New Mexico Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR). It administers the disability program in New Mexico for the Commissioner of the Social Security Administration (SSA) in compliance with Public Law 96-265, the Social Security Disability Amendments of 1984. The DDS makes disability decisions on all claimants applying for benefits under the SSA Disability Program. SSA requires that the majority of disability decisions be reviewed and signed by both an experienced Disability Adjudicator and by a licensed physician. DDS will contract with a sufficient number of licensed physicians to meet this requirement. The contracts issued under this RFP will be for the purpose of providing training in the Disability Determination Services adjudication process. Contractors successfully completing the six-month training may be offered a multiyear contract. Respondents must be licensed to practice Medicine and/or Psychology in the State of New Mexico.
