NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING Carnuel Water System Improvements Project Number 2316-ADW Date: August 11, 2009 Time: 5:30 pm Place: Canon de Carnue Land Grant Hall, 340 Highway 66 E, Albuquerque Agenda: 5:30-6:00 pm - open house project review; 6:00-6:45 - summary of preliminary engineering report / environment information document; 6:45-7:30 - public question / answer and comments session. Purpose: The proposed Carnuel Water System Improvements project involves the construction of infrastructure needed to deliver a safe, reliable drinking water supply as well as provide water for fire protection to the Carnuel area. Water would be supplied through a connection to the existing public water system owned and operated by the Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority (ABCWUA). The ABCWUA and the Carnuel Mutual Domestic Water and Wastewater Consumers Association has secured a combination of grant and loan funding for the proposed project from State of New Mexico legislative appropriations, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the New Mexico Water Trust Board, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and the American Recovery land Reinvestment Act of 2009. The purpose of this public hearing is to present applicable laws and/regulations, to review the draft preliminary engineering report and environmental information document, seek public comment, identify issues of concern, present the range of alternatives considered, and enlist public participation in development of the project plan.
